We continue our exploration of 2015's best things with an episode dedicated to our favourite video games of the year! Joining us for this massive two hour discussion is Thomas McMullan - better known as Shag - who has hosted Arvos on FBi Radio for the last decade and helped put together a 2015 games survey in which 65 different people (ourselves included!) were asked to vote for their favourite games of the year. We reveal the top 10 and discuss our personal faves, plus we got some cameo recordings from Hey Fam friends Tommy Dassalo, Gen Fricker, Lewi McKirdy, Henry Stone, Raph Dion, Alex Tulett and Jon Valenzuela who share their most played games of 2015.
Every month Levins heads to Siobhan Coombs's house to look back at the last month in comics! This month we review a tonne of new releases from Marvel, DC, Image, Archie and more including The Dark Knight Returns 3, Airboy, We Stand On Guard, The Goddamned, Paper Girls, Prez, Velvet, Secret Wars, The Fade Out, The Twilight Children and Saga!
Next week we reveal our favourite comics of the year!
We just saw The Force Awakens at midnight! We haven't slept! So what better to do than just hit that mf record button and let ALL of our thoughts fly about this year's/decade's/century's most anticipated cinematic event? NOTHING! This episode is FULL of spoilers and while they're not co-herent, SAVE THIS EPISODE FOR UNTIL YOU SEE THE MOVIE! You've been warned!
We continue our look back at the best of 2015 by doing an episode all about movies with our good friend and previous guest, film marketer Eb Yusuf. Plus OH NO OUR SCUMBAG RIVALS THE BLANK SLATE MOVIE PODCAST SNUCK INTO THIS EPISODE SOMEHOW AND TURN OUR EDUCATED CRITIQUE INTO JUVENILE FILTH! HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING?
Every episode of Hey Fam this month is a BEST OF 2015 episode and this week we kick it off with a huge BEST OF TV IN 2015 special featuring a panel of experts including Gruen's Sophie Braham, Sydney Story Factory's Matt Roden, Jon Valenzuela from Soap Creative and Lee Tran Lam from The Unbearable Lightness of Being Hungry - plus your baby bros Angus and Levins.
What TV did we love in 2015? More importantly, what did we hate? Tune in to some of the hottest arguments of the year about one of the strongest years in television ever!
The episode you've been waiting for! We invited a long list of amazing guests to join us at Giant Dwarf for our very every live episode! You'll hear live music, jags, trolls, parlour games, poorly drawn commissioned art and a whole lot more visual gags that won't make sense! In addition, you'll finally hear the debut live performance of the very thing we've been threatening you with since our early days - the 'long lost' Entourage script written by us and starring some of Sydney's funniest!

Musical guests: The Meeting Tree
Hosted by Andrew Levins & Angus Truskett
The bad news is that this episode is late. The good news is that IT FRIDAY BABY and Levins and Angus are finally back at Hey Fam HQ for a good old fashioned Fam out.
We discuss Aziz Ansari's new show Master of None and the insane amount of cool new shows up on Netflix this month, Angus explains how he's been trying to divide his time between Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront and playing every Metal Gear game ever made and Levins recounts his recent trip to Tokyo and what it was like taking a toddler to Disneyland.
PLUS this is the last episode before our massive live show at Giant Dwarf! Have you got your tickets yet?
Levins and Angus leave the comfort of Angus's living room and head back to the Playstation office to sit down with Arne Meyer from Naughty Dog, the game company behind Uncharted, The Last of Us, Crash Bandicoot and more. Arne has been working at Naughty Dog since Uncharted 2 came out and gave us some hot insider info about Uncharted 4. We also pitched him a few games starring our favourite Uncharted character, Victor 'Sully' Sullivan, and asked him to put forward his ideal cast for a potential Uncharted movie.
At the end of every month Levins hangs out with Siobhan Coombs and reviews the last month of comics with her. This month hear what ruled and what sucked from Marvel, DC, Image and more, including new issues of Lando, The Omega Men, Paper Girls, Weirdworld and more. To celebrate the release of his new comic Black Magick, we end the episode by running through our favourite Greg Rucka comics. If you have a writer, artist or character who you'd like to see us feature on the podcast, send us an email! email@example.com
So a dancer, a playwright, a tech manager, an illustrator, a designer and the founder of an independent games festival walk into a hotel room...
Levins was a guest at the Junket un-conference in Canberra this week, where he had the opportunity to join important conversations with 200 other bright young Australians but he chose to record a podcast in his hotel room instead. Tweeting out his room number, he invited anyone at the conference to come record with him and got a mix of people he'd met before and others he hadn't! On this cool impromptu show, Levins is joined by Nakkiah Liu (Black Comedy), Sarah Moran (Girl Geek Academy), Amrita Hepi (Beyonce Dance Class), Lewis Evans (Telstra), Matt Roden (Sydney Story Factory) and Dan Golding (Freeplay Festival) over the course of 70 minutes. Extremely important topics discussed include virtual reality games, the Entourage movie, Dance Dance Revolution, The Kim Kardashian app, Netflix, masculinity in games, The Sims, horror movies and notable Australian video games.
Angus and Levins introduce the episode with 15 mins of talk about the latest Batman movie news, a new Jar Jar Binks theory and the announcement of our brand new live Hey Fam event happening at Giant Dwarf in Sydney on November 23! Tickets available at GiantDwarf.com.au!
Half live from Paris! Levins has been making videos from Paris Games Week and fought off his treacherous jetlag for an hour to speak with Angus about the massive Playstation conference and a stack of big game announcements, including Star Wars Battlefront, Uncharted 4 and Streetfighter V. Angus has finished Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which has inspired him to do something CRAZY that’ll take at least 6 more months. Meanwhile, Levins has played about 10 minutes of that new Zelda game. Plus he finally watched the first season of Rick and Morty and loved it! Levins tricks Angus into asking him what movies he watched on the plane AND Angus reviews the new movie by the guy who directed the first season of True Detective. The most important news though? Daryl Somers has a new show coming to Channel 9 and we’ve got the hot scoop!
It finally happened! After years venomous trash talk between podcasts, Hey Fam is invaded by those scum at The Blank Slate Movie Podcast. That's right, Henry Stone, Cameron James and Alexei Touliopoulos in the Hey Fam studio, stinking up the joint! How do they get in? Do they ever get out? Which Hey Fam members survive?
Amidst the chaos we reflect on that new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, suggest a few comics for a non comic reader, remember that 3D episode of The Simpsons, reveal the podcasts that we listen to that aren't our own and tell a couple stories about Bobo from Fat Pizza.
It's an hour long geek out with the Hey Fam family. Levins and Angus have been playing that Star Wars Battlefront beta and they've got plenty of battle stories to share - it's even been keeping Angus away from Metal Gear Solid V (almost). In between battles we report some of the cooler announcements from New York Comic-Con, including new news about Marvel's Daredevil TV series and the latest additions to their cinematic universe. Levins gives an update on how much money he's spent on Lego Dimensions and Angus runs through some movies he's seen recently, such as The Martian and a documentary about the legendary figures who made the awe inspiring pieces of cinema Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Levins and Siobhan are back to review the last month in comic books and we invited our good friend Nacho Pop (aka Nate Mendelsohn) to tease us for not exclusively reading old X-Men issues. Reviewed in this episode are new issues of Prez, Batgirl, Batman, WeirdWorld, Tokyo Ghost, Sex Criminals, We Stand On Guard, Daredevil, Lando, Archie, Plutona and more from DC, Marvel and Image!
Who's up? Angus and Levins, that's who! No guests just pure content as they go back to the roots of Hey Fam and rant about video games, movies and... memes? Find out why Angus is addicted to Metal Gear Solid V, if Levins cried while watching Tomorrowland on a plane and whether Kevin Smith's live show at the Opera House was as good as our interview with him last week! PLUS - it's a world exclusive - we celebrate the life and death of That's Amore memes. Where else can you find hot content like this fam? Honk that subscribe button if you up.
Surprise fam! We got a special bonus episode for you with an Interview that Levins did with Kevin Smith this week! Over a crackly phone connection Kevin Smith tells Levins about the comic books that he'd like to see adapted into movies, what he loves most about podcasting and some crazy info about Mallrats 2! It's a fun and candid in-depth interview with a dude who pretty much inspired us to start making Hey Fam! Before the Kevin interview we talk for a lil' bit about Super Mario Maker, Angus's new Yeezy sneakers and watching adults-only commercials at Year 5 camp. It's the most amore bonus ep ever!
We leave the Hey Familia studios for the first time and head to the PlayStation office to speak with Siobhan Reddy, studio director of Media Molecule, who've produced games like Little Big Planet, Tearaway and the upcoming Dreams. If Playstation had a Nintendo wing, it would be Media Molecule, and Siobhan tells us about her creative process, about the games that influence her and her team, how her games have lead to her hiring new staff and what games she's been playing lately. Plus we make her cast The Rock in a movie version of Tearaway because we are horrible people.
We invited Steele Saunders, comedian and host of the hit podcasts Steele Wars and I Love Green Guide Letters, into the Hey Fam studios and we made him cry! Actually, he made himself cry as he recounted his emotional journey through Hall H for this year's Star Wars panel at ComicCon. It's an all Star Wars episode this week, while Steele isn't crying we get amped about The Force Awakens, go over the revisions made to the first trilogy and recount our Force Friday experiences. We actually interviewed a line of Star Wars fans out the front of a Toys 'R' Us for the midnight launch last week and crammed that into this jam packed episode too.
It's our first all musical episode with our special guests, the Godfathers of Australian Dance Music: The Meeting Tree! We invited Joyride and Raph to talk about movies, TV, video games and comic books - but end up talking about the ARIA awards, memes and the fact that Raph hasn't seen a movie since Avatar. Plus Joyride books flights to Brisbane during this episode and it's an absolute thrill to listen to.
This week we stole Lewi McKirdy, the voice of Australia's youth, from the triple j studios and forced him to reveal unbelievable facts about himself to us over the course of 90 minutes. Did you know he's an obsessive iPhone gamer who has at one point held the highest scores in the world for some apps? Or that he recently entered himself into a Mario Kart 64 tournament and has a man crush on a particularly beautiful Nintendo rep? Or that he was on an MTV reality show that saw him swap lives with an American farmer? Also, once he peed his pants on a flight to Hawaii. We learnt all these things about Lewi and learnt a few things about ourselves, like how Angus gets an abscess every time a Metal Gear Solid game comes out, or how Levins still doesn't know if it's Sex And The City or Sex And The City. Listen and learn with us, and who knows, maybe you'll learn something about ~yourself~.
Bbbbbonus episode! There's been a distinct lack of comic book talk on Hey Fam lately so Levins hung out in the living room of our previous guest Siobhan Coombs (aka CBG) and recorded a solid hour of white hot comic book reviews. Reviewing everything they're read in the last month - from DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Archie and more. It's a race against time as Levins realises he's allergic to Siobhan's apartment and begins to rapidly deteriorate from halfway through the episode. Does he make it all the way to end? Or is he dead now? Tune in to our first bonus episode to find out!
Becky Lucas is a comedian and also the woman responsible for our LEWDEST EPISODE YET! Get ready for thrills, Wils and grills when we ask our first guest who doesn't watch TV, see movies, play games or read comics to talk to us about TV, movies, games and comics! Marvel as we compare Disneyland to Banksy's new art stinker 'Dismal-land', justify our embarrassing tattoos and serve up another hot slab of beef to our sworn enemies at The Blank Slate Movie Podcast!
Radge and Eb Yusuf spend half their time and all their money watching movies in Gold Class. They are the 1%, and the only people on the planet that liked the Fantastic Four movie, so we got them both on to discuss the best and worst of superhero movies, from the depths of Daredevil and Elektra to the soaring heights of The Winter Soldier. We also ask them to recommend TV shows to fill the True Detective sized hole in our hearts AND we respond to the biggest beef in podcast history - the heroes of Hey Fam versus those scum at the Blank Slate Movie Podcast!
Hey Fam is eight episodes old! We celebrate by cutting us a birthday slice of Melbourne comedian (ugh we know, another one) Stuart Daulman. Together we dissect that final episode of True Detective season two and take a look at the season overall. Did we love it? Who do we want for season three? Is there any other podcast in the game that will spend a solid 20 minutes recasting The Sandlot Kids for a new generation? We answer all these questions PLUS give you some tight chats about Star Wars, The Beatles and our favourite laneways of Melbourne.
