It's our first birthday! To celebrate 12 months of Hey Fam we've organised the height of audio entertainment: a super professional and very real clip show! When they're not reminiscing about all the hot content they've made so far, Levins and Angus discuss Finding Dory, their favourite Pixar shorts, Looney Tunes, the recent big announcements about Star Wars: Rogue One and the abysmal sequel to Independence Day.
Thanks so much for listening to us for a whole year fam!
Warning spoilers for Finding Dory and Independence Day: Resurgence
Only having just recovered from the hangover caused by last week’s Totally Blotto Episode, the baby bros return for an alcohol free AKA Prohibition Episode to talk about All The Small Things / True care, E3 brings. There’s amazing highs (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Sony’s presentation and by proxy the Patron Saint of Hey Fam Hideo Kojima) and some bummer lows (Microsoft’s presentation, Rare in 2016 [and kinda Nintendo in 2016]). But it’s not all fun and video games, we managed to squeeze in a few new flicks (Finding Dory, Tickled, The Red Turtle) and most definitely haven’t watched any more Preacher because we’re lazy. But we will.
Melbourne comedian Tommy Dassalo was one of our first guests, and his initial appearance was so good that we invited him to be a part of our live episode immediately, then said his name in every episode since. The host of two fine podcasts (The Little Dum Dum Club and Filthy Casuals), Tommy's the kind of quick witted, informed individual who inspires others to bring their A-game whenever they hit record. We were excited to have Tommy back on as a guest. So excited that we all got drunk and didn't hit record until after midnight on the Sunday before a public holiday. We don't really talk about movies, TV or video games much - but Angus reads out a letter to Coca-Cola and reveals that he's starting a fashion line - and that he and Tommy have written an entire album about Tommy being an egg. Tommy has an allergic reaction to Angus' cat and spends half the episode wiping tears from his eyes, and Levins doesn't remember one second of recording this episode - which also happens to be the greatest episode of Hey Fam so far. That's amore.
The Hey Fam baby bros are back after a week off in which Levins finally caught up with the second season of Daredevil, Angus played 15 hours of Overwatch and The Avalanches released a new single! We discuss all of that plus make a few terrible predictions about E3 this weekend.
